“Every portrait that is painted with feeling is a portrait of the artist, not of the sitter”. – Oscar Wilde in “The picture of Dorian Gray” (1891)
‘I portray women of different ages and place them in a world I’ve conceived. I want to interpret them. Light and aesthetic components such as composition and rigorous forms are important to me and play an essential role in my photographs. Combined with high contrasts from the black and white palette, they characterise my portraits in which the natural underlying beauty is enhanced.’
